Hi Everyone. It’s me. Phil. Just Phil. I had to write this book. I did my best. I got stuck in the past for a long while, but it was necessary in order to bring out the stuff we’d need as we delve into the future. I hope all that visit here have already read the book. If not, I hope you will read the book! And I hope all of you will get involved.

Hunga Dunga was always one big fucking experiment. Maybe we can experiment again.

Dear Phil,
I read your book because I have been involved in the “Saga of La Maison Bleue”. I was very impressed for a first novel, loved it and decided to offer a conference about the whole story of “the return of Maxime at SF” at the small Alliance Française of Berkeley on February 10, 2012. I was wondering if you would allow me to read from Hunga Dunga. It will be in French, but I would like to read some parts from your book in English. Is that ok with you ? Best, CLD
Christine,
I am flattered. Of course you may read from my book. I wish I could be there to hear it read in read in French. I sent you a longer email. Hope you got it!
Namaste,
Phil
Dear Phil Polizatto,
I was one of the hippie chicks putting daisies in the bayonetted rifles of the National Guardsmen during the Viet Nam protests at UC Berkeley.
I was surprised to hear that hippies are having a hard time defining themselves and that some feel denigrated.
Next time you’re near Santa Barbara, please join me at my humble abode on Gibraltar Road, off the grid, with hearthfires for heat, solar power and candles for light, no phone, wood-burning sauna and hot tub, and an Olympic-sized, spring-fed pond.
You’ll feel at home. Please bring a flashlight if you’re planning on staying at our guesthouse, and bring your favorite comfort food—we have only an ice box and I’m not a balabosta.

Glad to hear from you, and obviously you never gave up on the hippie values! I went to your site. Did not join yet, but gave me a good idea what you are up to, and it makes me proud!
Did not mean to say that hippies in general feel disparaged, but that many got distracted during the me, mine years of the 80′s, decided to rejoin the mainstream, some in very noble ways, others not. But now we are again at a juncture where anyone who has been a hippie on the inside, needs to be a hippie on the outside as well.
I do not mean garb and long hair. I mean that we had it right all along and should have never given up, should have pushed harder. Many hippies never left their roots or values. New hippies are being born every day. Young hippies are embracing the old values of peace, love, respect for the earth.
You are one who has always been true blue. And I thank you very much for the invite to visit. If nothing else, Hunga Dunga has reconnected so many people in amazing and touching ways.
Thanks for visiting. Check out http://www.worldwidehippies.com I think you will be impressed!

I’ve got to go get your book and give it a read. Are you still appearing at local bookstores?
Hey Paul…. am in SoCal right now. Am hoping to do some readings this summer in the Seattle area. I will be sure to let you know and will post it on my schedule of events here on this blog and my other site http://www.hungadunga.org. Peace, brother.
Phil,
From out of the blue, you’ve re-entered my consciousness!! I still have a copy of the CATIA video you produced while we put in our time at the ‘B’. You’re an amazing dude and I’d like to reconnect.
Paul
